Newsletters
Overview
After creating your perspective, you'll be able to generate your very own newsletter. The Newsletter creation form on your home page is a simple component to use for you to describe, customize, and perfect your newsletters.
Creating a Newsletter
The Newsletter creation form gives you the ability to customize the following fields:
- Title -- the title of your newsletter.
- Description -- a basic description of the topic of your newsletter.
- Send Cadence -- a recurring date & time schedule for your newsletter to be sent to you.
- Perspective -- a lens for DeepLetter to generate your newsletter's content through.
- Inbox -- an inbox of newsletters to aggregate and summarize (see here for more detail)
- Newsletter Decorators -- options to provide your newsletter with realtime data. Options include biggest losers/gainers in the stock market and a horoscope reading.
Important Notes to Keep in Mind
- Descriptions -- try to keep your newsletter's descriptions as brief as possible. DeepLetter works in the background to convert your description into a rule for flagging news worthy of being included in each issue, and a more general description allows more coverage for your newsletter.
- Send Cadence -- you have three options for your newsletters to be sent; Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. For some descriptions, Daily newsletters might result in duplicate headlines to be included.
- Send Times -- Send times are relative to your current location.
Modifying a Newsletter
Upon creation, your newsletter will be displayed in a card on your home page that resembles the following image.
Within this card, you are able to do the following:
- Edit the newsletter's title or description.
- Switch the newsletter's perspective and inbox to another one you have already created.
- Delete the newsletter.
- Send a sample newsletter to test your current setup.
Important Notes to Keep in Mind
- You are not able to change the cadence of your newsletter after creation
- Sample newsletter may only be sent once after a newsletter's creation, regardless of edits.
